        Sunday, August 24 - Deadline for Entries

        Friday, September 8 - Jury results emailed out

       Thursday September 18 - Art Drop off at Aurora Town Hall, 2nd Floor, SOYRA gallery between 4:00pm and 6:00pm

Friday, September 19 - Gala Opening Reception

      Show Hours - Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am to 4:00pm

     

RULES

1. A non-refundable fee of $30.00 is required to participate in this SOYRA members only show. Members may enter two (2) pieces of artwork for jury.

 

2. This show is juried for entry as well as for prizes. A qualified juror will award one 'Best in Show', '2nd Place', '3rd Place' and two 'Honourable Mention' prizes as they see fit. As always, we will have a 'People's Choice Award'.

Awarded Winners receive the following cash Prizes:

  • Best in Show - $150.00

  • 2nd Place - $125

  • 3rd Place - $100

  • Two Honourable Mention Awards - $50 each

  • People's Choice Award - $100

 

3. Artwork and photographs must be framed to professional standards and securely WIRED for hanging with 'D' rings. (No saw-toothed hangers or screw eyes please.) NOTE: Paintings or photographs on gallery-wrapped canvas (min. 1.5” in depth) may be submitted without frames but must have painted or wrap-around edges with no staples showing. Photographs presented under glass must be matted.

 

4. All submitted artwork must be recent (created within 3 years), the artist's own conception and done without assistance. Any work deemed to be a copy, print or created using AI will be removed.

 

5. Sizes of artwork acceptable for submission to this show are maximum 42x42" framed and minimum 12x12" or 11x14" unframed.

 

6. All artwork must be for sale. SOYRA will process all sales and take a 20% commission.

 

8. The artist is responsible for insuring their artwork in the show.

 

9. No artwork may be removed by the artist until after the closing of the show at 4:00pm on Sunday September 21st. It is the artist’s responsibility to pick up their artwork promptly. Please inform the show co-ordinator if someone else is picking up your work.

 

10. Artwork sold during the show can be removed and taken at that time if requested by the purchaser.

Entry Requirements:

  1. Quality images of your artwork. Images must be jpeg with 900 pixels maximum along the shortest dimension or a maximum of 1MB per image. Each image must only show one piece of artwork and nothing else.

  2. Please name each image: lastname firstname - title (e.g. Smith John - title of painting)

  3. Include the title, medium, dimensions (length, width and depth) and price of each artwork in your submission.

 

NOTE: Participants are required to help with various volunteer duties including scheduling, show setup, sales during the show, distribution of promotional materials, greeting guests and signage.
