George Keltika

These days, George can be found cursing on a golf course or swatting mosquitoes while plein air painting.  He has exhibited his art since the 1970’s. From an early age, George has been a painter. Upon completing a Bachelor of Visual Arts degree, he worked as a pictorial artist for an advertising company. In the early 1980’s he became a founding member of Artcite - an artist run gallery in Windsor Ontario – that for 40 years, continues to be in operation. He later completed a Bachelor of Education with an Ontario Teaching Certificate. This led to a two year teaching position at Sandy Lake, a First Nations reserve. In 1988, he was appointed Art Teacher and later Head of Arts at Pickering College in Newmarket Ontario. He worked there for the next 25 years. He is currently retired from teaching, continues to paint and hates mosquitoes.
